Bombela Operating Company (BOC) developed, implemented, and maintains an ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 45001:2018 certified Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) Management System to ensure optimal SHERQ performance and continuous improvement throughout our operations.

Our commitment to effective SHERQ management through appropriate policies and procedures is fundamental to our operations and ensures that SHERQ remains a priority across all levels of our organization. Our high levels of SHERQ operational performance and continuous improvement earned our organization’s quality management system, a recognition for excellence by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

Our operations are guided by strict Railway Safety Standards and other applicable regulatory and compliance obligations that demand for the continued safety and protection of Gautrain commuters, employees, visitors, contractors, surrounding communities, property and the environment from potential impacts of our organization’s activities. We conduct regular reviews and testing of our emergency and operational processes, while stringent planned internal and external audits including inspections enhance compliance with our policies and applicable legal and other requirements. BOC was honored to be awarded the 2024 “Train Operator of The Year” at the inaugural Railway Safety Regulator awards.
